Charles River Center Receives $10,000 Grant from Foundation for MetroWest
Charles River Center Natick
The Charles River Center has been awarded a grant from the Foundation for MetroWest to support recreation programs for those with developmental disabilities at the Family Support Center in Natick.
The Family Support Center will use the funds to provide financial assistance and outreach to low-income families, hire additional staff, add a music therapy program and grow the current social recreation programs. Current classes and activities include Fitness Fun, Artistic Afternoons, Family Craft Night, seasonal parties, Girls Group, volunteer day, Avenues to Adulthood and sibling outings, and provide participants with new experiences, creative exploration, education, healthy activities, friendship, and fun.
“We are so thankful to the Foundation for MetroWest for this grant,” said Betsy Hinchey, Program Coordinator at The Charles River Center. “This will allow us to significantly grow our social recreation programs. Most importantly, we will now be able to offer scholarships to families who cannot afford the program cost and add extra staffing for participants that need it, thereby expanding the population that can access and benefit from our programs.”
